What is the short-term and long-term outlook for the IT sector? – Mayaank, Chennai
In the near term, Indian IT companies may face pricing pressure as clients increasingly adopt AI-led deployment models, raising the risk of structural disruption to the traditional outsourcing model. While INR weakness may offer some support, margins could remain under pressure as AI-native firms compete for high-value consulting and transformation work, altering sector pricing dynamics and deal structures.
However, the medium- to long-term outlook remains intact, supported by strong client relationships, deep expertise in regulated sectors, and legacy modernization opportunities. Sustaining this position will require continued investment in proprietary AI capabilities to enhance efficiency and drive business transformation.

It is unlikely to see a significant decline in demand during the peak seasons despite the recent duty hike. The strong cultural affinity of Indian consumers towards gold will continue to support purchases. However, buyers may shift their preference towards lightweight jewellery and lower karat options to manage rising costs while maintaining traditional buying habits.

When it comes to IDCW option commonly known as dividend, you may receive periodic payouts depending on fund performance and AMC’s declaration. As the profits are shared with investors the NAV will reflect the payout.
